    Chapter 3
    1. Kenny is hesitant to hang out with Rufus because Rufus gets bullied more than Kenny so he doesn’t want to hang out with him or else he will be bullied more.
    2. In my opinion Kenny is friends with L J because he doesn’t tease him and because he is the only one who likes to play with them.
    3. Kenny likes Rufus a lot more as a friend because he doesn’t steal from him. In the book Kenny said that L J always stole from him when he came over so it was easier not having to worry about his toys being gone.
    Chapter 4
    1. In my opinion Kenny takes care of Joetta, I think this because in the book it said that he took off all of her extra layers because he didn’t want her to get too hot.
    2. The author makes you feel bad for Larry Dunn when Byron bullies him because he repedidly through him against a metal fence.

  2. ma1 1: Kenny is hesitant because all of the kids at school make fun of Rufus and he is hesitant that he would be made fun of also because he in hanging out with him.

2: In my opinion Kenny is still friends with LJ Jones because Kenny is not sure if he wants to play with Rufus, so he plays with LJ Jones instead. But when LJ steals most of his toy dinosaurs, he starts playing with Rufus.

3: Kenny thinks that Rufus is a better friend because in the book it says that Kenny doesn't have to worry about stolen dinosaurs any more, and it says that they both don't spend half of the time arguing about who's going to be the Nazi dinosaurs.

4: Kenny's relation ship with Joetta is good. I think this because Kenny helps Joetta take of her jackets, sweaters, t shirts, snow pants, socks, and boots. Mom makes them wear all of this stuff because she doesn't want them to catch a cold. And Kenny wiped Joetta's tears when she started crying.

5: The author shows the sympathy for Larry Dunn because in the book it says that Byron makes everyone feel sorry for Larry. And everyone starts laughing when they see that Larry has holes on the bottom of his shoes.

  3. 1. Kenny is hesitant to spend time with Rufus because everyone makes fun of him, and if they knew they were friends, Kenny would be teased too.
    2. Kenny was friends with LJ because LJ was the only one who would be his friend, even though LJ stole the dinosaurs.
    3. Kenny thinks that Rufus is a better friend than LJ because Rufus didn’t care about who was the Nazis and Rufus didn’t steal from Kenny.
    4. The kind of relationship Kenny and Joetta have is a good one because Kenney helps her with things like getting out of her snow clothes.
    5. The author makes the reader feel pain for Larry Dunn by when Byron beats him up and throws him at the fence hard repeatedly and everyone is standing by, just watching.

  4. 1. Kenny is hesitant to spend time with Rufus because Rufus is bullied, just like him. Usually, at least at his school, if two people who get bullied hang out with each other, they get bullied twice as much.
    2. I think Kenny is friends with LJ because he had no other friends. For example, it says in the text that on the bus, Kenny is on last and sits by himself (until Rufus comes) and he is bullied, so he doesn’t have many friends. LJ might not be a good friend, but he is the only friend Kenny has, and he doesn’t want to lose him.
    3. Kenny ends up thinking that Rufus is a better friend than LJ because he doesn’t steal his toy dinosaurs. LJ took about half of Kenny’s. Also, he is kind to him and he and Cody are (besides Joetta and maybe LJ) the only people who don’t bully him in the school.
    4. I think Kenny’s relationship with Joetta is mixed. He thinks she is annoying because she always whines and cries about her jackets and how she is sweating in them. He likes Joetta because she doesn’t tease and bully him or Rufus.
    5. Christopher Curtis made you sympathetic about Larry Dunn, even though he is a bully because Byron throws him over the school fence and into the schoolyard over and over. There is ice on the schoolyard so Larry slides all over. NLD5

    Chapter 3

1.Kenny is hesitant to spend time with Rufus because Rufus is very annoying to him. He sits with at lunch and asks for a bite of his sandwich and then apple. He also asks Kenny whats wrong with his lazy eye. Everyday Rufus started to follow Kenny and wanted to become his friend.

    2. I think Kenny is friends with LJ even though LJ isn’t a good friend because he feels protected by him. LJ Jones is a tall, buff strong kid.

3.Kenny thinks that Rufus is a better friend than LJ because Rufus didn’t steal the dinosaurs, like LJ would. On page 38, “I wasn’t allowed to take all of my dinosaurs out at ounce because Momma was afraid I’d lose most of them. Especially because she didn’t trust LJ.”

1.Kenny’s relationship with Joetta is a good one. She helps him with his winter coat and sweater so he will not be cold.

    2. The author makes the reader sympathize with Larry Dunn because everyone is laughing when he gets beat up. Also his little windbreaker was wripped under both sides, Byron pointed out how his tennis shoes had holes in them.
